Multi-Frequency Current Harmonics Suppression of Dual Three-Phase PMSM Drives Considering Non-Ideal Factors
Dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) have gained more attention in both academia and industry by the virtue of lower torque ripple, better fault-tolerance and other advantages. Unlike three-phase motors, dual three-phase motors feature a low-impedance sub-plane comprising only resistance and leakage inductance. Owing to non-ideal factors such as inverter nonlinearity and winding asymmetry, multi-frequency current harmonics are inevitably introduced into the motor drive system, and those components will increase the copper loss and degrade the system efficiency. To address this issue, a multi-frequency current harmonic suppression method based on a controller designed in the discontinuous domain has been developed for dual three-phase PMSM drives. Compared to existing methods, the proposed approach not only ensures steady-state harmonic elimination but also simplifies the control structure. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
