Precision Position Control of a Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor Using Advanced PID Control
This study presented an advanced PID control scheme applied to a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor to achieve high precision position control. The proposed scheme consists of an S-curve design, the input shaping control, PID control, an anti-windup scheme, a disturbance observer, and feedforward control, and each method is used to solve a specific problem. The experimental results satisfy the requirements of control performances, which are the traveling distance of 2 millimeters, the tracking error of 1.5 micrometers, and the settling time of 0.08 seconds.
