Integrated catalytic-chemical looping reverse cycle technology for efficient syngas production via biomass gasification
A one-piece composite is designed through a simple preparation process. It combines catalytic and chemical looping reverse cycling functions to drive the gasification reaction equilibrium shift for efficient syngas production. Ni acts as a stable catalyst to drive the cracking reaction of biomass volatiles. Fe and CaO utilize oxygen ions to form Ca 2 Fe 2 O 5 , creating a reverse chemical looping cycle. At 700 °C and H 2 O/C ratio of 2, the syngas of the interated material reached 799.1 ml/g. The composition of the syngas showed that H2 and CO occupied 75.4 % of the total syngas composition. The durable stability of the integrated material over 50 cycles demonstrates its suitability for biomass gasification. The design of the catalytic-chemical looping reverse cycle integrated material simplifies the process of biomass gasification. This provides an idea for the application of integrated materials in biomass gasification. • One-piece material combines catalytic and chemical looping reversal functions. • Ni acts as catalyst, Fe and CaO realize the chemical looping reverse cycle function. • Fe and CaO bind [O] to form Ca 2 Fe 2 O 5 during biomass gasification.
