New findings of grasses for the flora of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan

Within the framework of the “Flora of Uzbekistan” project, taxonomic treatment and biogeographical analysis of the Poaceae family are being carried out. This paper presents data on three species of the family, new to the flora of Uzbekistan and two species new to the flora of Kyrgyzstan. New records to the flora of Uzbekistan were collected during field research in the Fergana Valley (Stipa magnifica), Surkhandarya (Phalaris paradoxa) and Kashkadarya (Elymus macrochaetus) provinces. New findings for the flora of Kyrgyzstan are the result of revision of specimens kept in the National Herbarium of Uzbekistan (TASH). New findings for the floras of the two countries are complemented by synonymy, distribution data, habitat information, notes on the species taxonomy and dot maps, as well as the list of studied specimens.
