Surface Interactive Assembly of Ruthenium Based Janus Bimetallic Nanoparticles With Active Dual‐Function Sites for Efficient Use in CO2 Utilization (Adv. Funct. Mater. 27/2025)

Noble Bimetallic Nanoparticles In article number 2418874, John T.S. Irvine, Minkyu Kim, Yukwon Jeon and co-workers develop a Janus-structured catalytic nanoparticle reactor featuring dual-function active sites and interface strain engineering that achieves enhanced dry reforming of methane (DRM) performance. By tuning the electronic d-band structure, the system enables efficient CO2 dissociation and CH4 activation. The optimized configuration delivers a turnover frequency over five times higher than that of conventional Ru-based catalysts.

Abstract

Noble Bimetallic Nanoparticles In article number 2418874, John T.S. Irvine, Minkyu Kim, Yukwon Jeon and co-workers develop a Janus-structured catalytic nanoparticle reactor featuring dual-function active sites and interface strain engineering that achieves enhanced dry reforming of methane (DRM) performance. By tuning the electronic d-band structure, the system enables efficient CO2 dissociation and CH4 activation. The optimized configuration delivers a turnover frequency over five times higher than that of conventional Ru-based catalysts.
