Enhanced Terahertz Spectroscopy of a Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenide (Adv. Funct. Mater. 27/2025)
Enhanced Terahertz Spectroscopy In article number 2419841, Luca Razzari and co-workers report on enhanced terahertz spectroscopy of a monolayer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD). Utilizing a suitably designed metallic surface that boosts the local absorption by 10,000 times, the technique enables the characterization of the phonon response of the 2D material and the extraction of its effective terahertz permittivity, opening the path for the rational design of phonon polariton devices featuring monolayer TMDs.
