Nanosheets Aggregated NiCo2O4 Nanoflowers for High-Performance Energy Storages in Electrical Substation Supercapacitor Application
The global energy crisis driven by depleting fossil fuel reserves and environmental concerns, highlights the critical need to develop robust energy storage solutions. From recent past, Transition metal oxidesbased supercapacitors have developed as a promising energy storage elucidation due to their great power density, extended cycle life, and rapid charge/discharge capabilities. In this study, we reported the synthesis of nanosheets-aggregated NiCo 2 O 4 nanoflowers by simple hydrothermal method. The incorporation of nanosheets into the nanoflowers structure significantly increases the surface area and exposes more electrochemically active sites, resulting in enhanced charge storage and superior rate performance. The electrochemical measurements reveal that the nanosheets-aggregated NiCo 2 O 4 nanoflowers exhibit a high specific capacitance of 650.60 F g −1 at charge density of 1 A/g, excellent cycling stability, and remarkable rate capability. The fabricated electrode demonstrated superior cycling stability of 91% capacitive retention after 5000 cycles. Furthermore, the work highlights the potential of nanostructured NiCo 2 O 4 materials in addressing the challenges of energy density in supercapacitor technology, flooring the method for more effectual and durable energy storage devices.
