Enhancing Reliability of Smart Systems Using In-Memory Computing

In the era of smart computing, efficient and reliable communication is paramount for applications spanning from IoT devices to large-scale cyber-physical systems. Error correction coding schemes play a critical role in ensuring data integrity and enhancing performance in smart communication systems. Traditional implementations of coding schemes often face challenges with latency and energy consumption. This paper proposes an innovative approach utilizing in-memory computing (IMC) to implement channel coding mechanisms. By integrating computation directly within memory, the proposed IMC-based channel coding scheme significantly reduces data transfer bottlenecks, leading to improved latency and energy efficiency. Performance evaluations demonstrate that this approach not only meets the stringent requirements of modern smart systems but also offers scalability and high-reliability across various application domains.
