Comparison of Diode-Clamped, T-Type and ANPC Multilevel Inverters
The comparison of three multilevel inverter topologies, namely Diode Clamped, T-Type, and ANPC inverters, reveals trade-offs in complexity and performance. While the Diode-Clamped inverter has multiple voltage levels, its complex structure may cause increased losses. In contrast, the T-Type inverter is simpler and more reliable, but it sacrifices voltage levels and may have a higher THD. The ANPC inverter achieves precise balancing and improved THD performance while increasing complexity. Performance analysis shows that higher modulation indices result in lower THD and higher RMS voltages, while higher switching frequencies result in smoother output waveforms. The decision between inverters is based on application-specific requirements, such as efficiency, complexity, and THD performance. This comparison focuses on Diode-Clamped and T-Type inverters that use Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation to precisely control and analyze THD and RMS voltages.
