Model Predictive Control for Low Switching Loss of PMSM

We propose a new method to reduce the switching frequency of the inverter in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) control. This method converts a single vector voltage applied to the motor in each control cycle into either a single vector voltage or the sum of two vector voltages. After calculating the original vector voltage, the method updates it to obtain a new vector voltage, thereby achieving control of the stator current. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated in MATLAB software and practical applications, and the results showed that it reduced the losses of the inverter to some extent without affecting the original control effectiveness. A comparison was made between the performance of the proposed method and the traditional Model Predictive Current Control (MPCC), revealing that the proposed method resulted in lower switching losses for the inverter.
