A Study and Application of Automated Exosome Extraction and Concentration System

Extracellular vesicles (EVs), particularly exosomes, play a crucial role in intercellular communication and are implicated in diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disorders. They hold significant potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic agents. However, traditional extraction methods face challenges in scalability, cost, and purity. This study introduces an automated exosome extraction and concentration system utilizing a novel multi-stage tangential flow pulsating pressure filtration method. The system was tested with human adipose-derived stem cells and plant extracts, achieving superior yield, purity, and cost-effectiveness compared to conventional approaches. Additionally, a micro-chip was developed for precise extraction of small exosome quantities. These innovations offer a scalable solution for exosome industrialization, with broad implications for clinical and industrial applications.
