Automatic Tracking System Based on Sound Source Localization Algorithm

This paper introduces an innovative system and methodology for target detection and tracking utilizing sound source localization technology. The system utilizes silicon microphones for signal acquisition and employs the Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) method to calculate the sound source position through geometric relationships. A pan-tilt mechanism, equipped with a camera, is driven to achieve automatic tracking and shooting. The interrupt service program of a microcontroller is introduced to achieve time-division signal acquisition and processing, enhancing system efficiency. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed solution. The system demonstrates high precision, low cost, and lightweight design, making it suitable for applications such as classroom teaching, video conferencing, and television broadcasting.
