Power Allocation Method for Multi-Machine System of Slope Gravity Energy Storage with Optimal Energy Efficiency

Slope gravity energy storage (SGESS) has significant potential in promoting the consumption of new energy and improving system flexibility due to its advantages of high safety, short construction period and small environmental impact. In the process of the slope gravity energy storage multi-machine system responding to the power demand of the power grid, the system energy efficiency can be improved by reasonably allocating the charging and discharging power of each unit to improve the economy of the system operation. However, there is currently no research on the optimal power allocation of multiple machines in gravity energy storage. To address this issue, this paper takes the slope chain rail gravity energy storage as an example, considers the losses of the energy storage mass block, chain, sprocket, gearbox and motor, establishes a mathematical model of power allocation for a multi-machine system with the goal of optimizing system energy efficiency, and conducts simulation verification. The simulation results show that the strategy in this paper increases the charging and discharging efficiency of the multi-machine system by an average of 0.6 %, verifying the effectiveness of the method in this paper. The power allocation method proposed in this paper provides new ideas for the operation and maintenance of the slope chain rail gravity energy storage multi-machine system, which is conducive to the promotion and application of gravity energy storage technology.
