Corticobasal Implants: A Valuable Tool for Rehabilitating Atrophied and Resorbed Maxillary Jaws – A Case Report of Sinus Atresia
Abstract Conventional implants pose challenges when dealing with atrophic maxillary ridges. Consequently, patients with severely atrophied jawbones often do not receive treatment, as conventional implants are typically the primary choice. Basal implants have been developed to address these challenges in conventional implantology, especially in cases of atrophied ridges or limited bone, with the added benefit of immediate functional loading. Placing smooth surface corticobasal implants in atrophied ridges has yielded high success rates for rehabilitation.
