Implementation of BIM Technology to Enhance Efficiency and Accuracy in Construction Projects
The rapid development of the construction industry demands improved efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration among stakeholders. Building Information Modeling (BIM) emerges as a digital solution to address these challenges by integrating 3D models with comprehensive project data. This study aims to analyze the role of BIM in enhancing efficiency and accuracy in construction projects in Indonesia, as well as to identify challenges in its implementation. A qualitative approach through literature review was applied, focusing on scientific publications from the past five years. Thematic analysis was conducted on relevant research findings. The results show that BIM provides significant benefits in cost management, scheduling, team collaboration, and more accurate planning. Case studies such as the Kertajati Airport and Jakarta International Stadium projects demonstrated up to 15% time savings and a reduction of over 60% in design conflicts. However, BIM implementation in Indonesia still faces obstacles such as a lack of skilled human resources, high initial costs, and the absence of standardized national BIM regulations. This study recommends national training programs, technology subsidies for small contractors, and mandatory BIM regulations for national strategic projects.
