Glocal Church Praxis on Water Justice

Abstract This article explores the significant role of churches in advocating for and realizing water justice, particularly in the context of a glocal water crisis. It emphasizes the importance of practical engagement among Christians. By applying a ‘theology in action’ approach within the praxis cycle and incorporating the ‘see-judge-act’ method of the pastoral cycle, the study argues for the importance of critiquing anthropocentric and androcentric perspectives, as well as listening to a variety of local responses. Additionally, the theological and practical responses of Korean churches are considered, highlighting the value of contextually informed approaches. This article advocates for churches to seek a ‘water-conscious mission’ as practical responses to water justice challenges. Ultimately, it aims to inspire Christians to foster interconnectedness and collaborative efforts in addressing these issues.
