Integrated Modular Voltage Equalization Circuit for Series‐Connected Battery String
ABSTRACT This paper proposes an integrated modular voltage equalization circuit for series—connected battery string. This integration is achieved by reusing the magnetic components from both the charging circuit and the balancing circuit, thus simplifying the system. The proposed integrated modular voltage equalization circuit contains only one active switch, so it has a simple circuit structure and low control complexity. The proposed converter can achieve automatic voltage balancing between series connected batteries without the need for voltage measurement circuits. The proposed integrated modular architecture is analyzed in detail, and the steady‐state characteristics are mathematically derived. A prototype is constructed and tested to validate the analytical results and demonstrate the operational characteristics of the proposed circuit.
