Assessment of the quality of drinking water in the city of Lipetsk

The results of studies of drinking water on organoleptic, chemical and microbiological indicators in 15 water intakes from 164 wells in the city of Lipetsk are presented. It was revealed that the total water hardness (mg-eq/kg) exceeds the MPC in water intakes Ь 2 and Syrsky mine, the chloride content (mg/ml) was reduced by more than 2 times in all water intakes, and the concentration of total iron (mg/ml) was increased in water intakes Ь 2 and TETs-2 by 13?%. A comparative analysis of the quality of water and its treatment methods showed that in the city of Lipetsk, a mechanical method is used for water treatment, with the help of which insoluble substances are eliminated from wastewater through settling systems and traps; reverse osmosis КР separation of various aqueous substances under pressure through semi-permeable membranes; ozone filtration, during which ozone transfers dissolved impurities invisible to the eye in water into a suspension that is easily retained by washing filter loading; iron removal; water disinfection at treatment plants in Lipetsk is carried out using sodium hypochlorite, which is produced on membrane electrolysis plants from ordinary table salt. To minimize the content of nitrates in the water supply system, drinking water is mixed from various water intakes. Keywords: drinking water, quality of drinking water, centralized water supply, Lipetsk.е
