Insecticidal activity of diamide-based food baits against the german cockroach

The efficacy of laboratory samples of baits based on diamides for the German cockroach of the insecticide-susceptible laboratory culture S-NIID and multi-resistant cultures MAG, KR, Amur-2, and OBN is shown. Higher resistance of females of resistant cultures of the German cockroach is revealed. The laboratory bait based on 0.1?% cyantraniliprole showed the best results. Males died completely, and 5Р15?%females survived. The gel bait containig0.5?% cyantraniliprole was less attractive to the German cockroach. A high mortality rate of males (95Р100?%) of all cultures was established, while the mortality rate of females was 95?% for S-NIID and from 30?% to 75?% for multi-resistant cultures. A decrease in the insecticidal effect of baits was established in the presence of alternative food. Flubendiamide in the form of 0.5?% food bait was not toxic to the German cockroach of all studied cultures. Keywords: resistance, chlorantraniliprole, cyantraniliprole, flubendiamide, intestinal action, baits, Blattella germanica.
