Mechanism of far-red adaptation in alveolate algae studied by two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy
Tumbarello et al. investigate red-shifted chlorophyll states and their role in photosynthetic light harvesting.Employing 2DES, they reveal ultrafast energy equilibration and excitonic dynamics in CLH and red-adapted FR-CLH.Far-red states in FR-CLH likely result from excitonic interactions at oligomer interfaces.
