Hubungan Rasio Neutrofil Limfosit dengan Derajat Keparahan Infeksi Dengue

ABSTRACT This study aims to evaluate the difference in mean values between various levels of severity of dengue virus infection in pediatric patients at Cinta Kasih Tzu Chi Hospital. With an analytical research approach based on a cross-sectional design, 47 pediatric patients aged 1-10 years who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included. Data were obtained from medical records of pediatric patients diagnosed with dengue virus infection during 2021 to 2024. The analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS software through the ANOVA test. The results showed a significant difference in the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) value between various stages of dengue infection, as evidenced by a p-value of 0.042 which is smaller than the significance threshold of 0.05. This NLR value varies between groups of patients with Dengue Fever (DF) and each degree of severity of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF I, II, III, and IV). This finding confirms that NLR can be used as an important indicator in assessing the severity of dengue disease, especially in pediatric patients treated at Cinta Kasih Tzu Chi Cengkareng Hospital during the 2021-2024 study period.
