Design and Implementation of a Millimetre-Wave Radar Ranging Security System

This article presents the design and implementation of a STM32-based millimetre wave radar range measurement system. The system's hardware comprises a microcontroller, a millimetre wave radar, a display, a buzzer alarm, and other components. The software component of the system is developed in accordance with the anticipated functionality of the hardware system, which encompasses the radar sensor data acquisition, display module, buzzer alarm module, and main control module. In the course of experimental verification, the designed system was tested at multiple points within a distance of 50–350 cm and at fixed-value single points. The results demonstrate that the millimeter-wave radar ranging system achieved a measurement error of approximately 5 cm within a certain distance, which is sufficient for practical applications.
