Attention-Based Dynamic Sampling for AI-Optimized Smart Grids: A Unified Framework for Robust Load Balancing and Renewable Integration
This paper proposes an attention-based dynamic sampling (ADS) framework tailored for AI-optimized smart grids, addressing the critical challenges of dynamic load balancing and renewable energy integration under uncertain and extreme conditions. The framework integrates temporal attention mechanisms, adversarial scenario synthesis, and graph-based optimization into a unified architecture, effectively overcoming the limitations of conventional methods in managing redundant data and rare yet impactful grid events. The ADS framework comprises three core modules: (1) a temporal attention gate that dynamically prioritizes high-impact time segments, (2) an adversarial scenario sampler that generates synthetic critical load scenarios to enhance robust training, and (3) a dynamic load balancer that optimizes power flow decisions using graph neural networks. Additionally, the framework ensures practical deployability by seamlessly integrating with legacy grid control systems while adhering to strict safety constraints. Extensive experimental validation on real-world smart grid datasets demonstrates significant improvements in computational efficiency and robustness compared to state-of-the-art methods. The key novelty of this work lies in its unified approach to addressing temporal, adversarial, and spatial dependencies, enabling scalable and resilient grid management. Furthermore, the modular design of the framework facilitates seamless adaptation to diverse grid configurations, making it a versatile solution for future energy systems. This research advances the broader objective of achieving sustainable and reliable power grids through advanced AI-driven optimization, offering a transformative approach to modern grid challenges.
