Novel Power Usage Effectiveness Navigated Computing Task Assignment with Micro Data Center Empowered By ITU-T L.1307
This paper proposes Power Usage Effectiveness Navigated Computing Task Assignment (PUE-CTA), an algorithm optimizing energy consumption in micro data center powered edge computing networks. Addressing limitations in current research regarding User Terminal (UE) battery life, Computing Equipment (CE) status monitoring, and task overlapping, PUE-CTA offers four key solutions: battery-aware offloading for UEs, proximity-based resource allocation, periodic CE status checks, and mitigation of redundant computations. Numerical analysis demonstrates that PUE-CTA significantly reduces energy costs, increases operator revenue, and improves the average Energy Efficiency Indicator, particularly in large networks, proving its efficacy in optimizing edge computing energy efficiency.
