A Closed-Form Physical Optics Solution for Far Field Scattering of Plane Waves
The numerical evaluation of physical optics (PO) integrals becomes inefficient and time consuming as a scattering problem geometry gets electrically larger. Therefore, efficient closed-form solutions are needed to evaluate the PO integrals. A closed-form PO solution is proposed for far field scattering of plane waves from an electrically large conducting surface. Numerical results are validated with the results from FEKO electromagnetic simulation software for some canonical shapes.
