A Numerical Study on Grounding Strategies for Noise suppression in High Voltage Battery Packs
In this paper, a method to numerically determine the grounding strategy for EMC compliance of high voltage rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS) in an electric vehicle is presented. The number of connections and the location of ground(s) play a crucial role in suppressing the electromagnetic noise from interfering with the environment or with the on-board antennas or electronics. An approach to tailor the noise propagation restricted to a specific frequency range where the impact is non-consequential by changing the number of grounds is presented.
