Scattering from a Circular Aperture Excited by an Off-Axis Loop: A Fast Convergent Technique

This work presents an exact, rapidly convergent formulation for evaluating electromagnetic field transmission through a circular aperture in a perfectly conducting plate. The source and receiver can be positioned arbitrarily in the two half-spaces. Using the equivalence principle, the problem is formulated in the Hankel transform domain, leading to dual integral equations. These are regularized into a second-kind Fredholm integral equation through analytical regularization. Computational efficiency is further enhanced by techniques that accelerate integral evaluations.

Abstract

This work presents an exact, rapidly convergent formulation for evaluating electromagnetic field transmission through a circular aperture in a perfectly conducting plate. The source and receiver can be positioned arbitrarily in the two half-spaces. Using the equivalence principle, the problem is formulated in the Hankel transform domain, leading to dual integral equations. These are regularized into a second-kind Fredholm integral equation through analytical regularization. Computational efficiency is further enhanced by techniques that accelerate integral evaluations.
