Cambashi: A CAD Consultancy
Cambashi is a Cambridge, UK, based market information consultancy that spun-out from the 1970’s Cambridge Computer-Aided Design (CAD) cluster. The article describes how Cambashi developed over 40 years. Initially, Cambashi provided advice on CAD to users and suppliers but then widened its scope to include other software applications for industry. <p xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">The article is not a history of CAD over the period but rather how Cambashi adapted successfully to changes in the CAD industry structure. The market developed rapidly so change was constant. Process changes in the product lifecycle interacted with software innovation. As industrial companies changed their needs, the CAD supply side evolved. Example projects show how Cambashi helped customers and became a successful international consulting practice.
