Essentials of Engineering in Society for Engineering Graduates

An important parameter in outcome-based education and accreditation requirements is role of engineer in the society. Its an important engineering graduate attribute. The engineers are pivotal in development of society. They must possess certain essential characteristics that are necessary for balanced and sustained development. The paper explores those characteristics, analyze them and on the basis of these characteristics gives a model and a framework. The analysis of the framework shows that 60% faculty, students and employers are ready to adopt proposed framework.
