Versatile SDN Virtualization Tool- MININET
Software-defined network (SDN) enables centralized, faster networks, better management, reduced operational costs, and improved network performance by controlling network traffic significantly. There are many kinds of simulators and emulators for SDN that are used to construct the applications on SDN. Mininet is an open source, where the severing nodes, switches, routers, and connecting links are only simulated in the same operating system at the end. Mininet is an emulation that creates an environment of SDN network. This paper also portrays an understanding of the MININET emulator that is used in the creation of the virtual SDN configuration of the network and other relevant components. One can have an advantage of using MININET in that it can shorten the time taken to execute network applications and can have components of a virtual network. More so, this paper explicates the flow of MININET to achieve the virtualization of networks.
