Big Data Analytics for Business Management: Driving Innovation and Competitive Advantage
Big Data Analytics (BDA) is becoming more important for companies in today’s data-driven business world that want to innovate and stay ahead of the competition. Business process analysis is the focus of this article as it relates to the management of innovation and competitive advantage. The relationship between BDA capability, information governance, and creative capacities is investigated using a thorough research methodology that draws on resource-based view (RBV) and information governance theories. This research tests the hypothesized associations using primary survey data from 175 C-suite executives using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results show that, with environmental dynamism acting as a moderator, BDA capacity has substantial favorable effects on the capacities for both incremental and radical innovation. In addition, the impact of BDA competence on radical innovation capacities is shown to be amplified by information governance. Consideration of technological resources, human skills, and information governance policies should be given equal weight when deploying BDAs, since this will have far-reaching practical consequences. Theoretically, this study adds to what is already known, and practically, it directs managers on how to use BDA to their benefit in the pursuit of innovation and competitive advantage.
