A practical approach for identification of Environmental Aspect and Impact with resource efficient operations in French fries processing industry for sustainable development

The global production of potatoes is exceeding year on year and global demand for frozen potato is rising rapidly. Market research reports states, India's frozen potato products' market worth reached a value of nearly USD 1.10 billion and is anticipated to reach USD 2.82 billion by 2026. This greater volume of production is leading to increased pollution and waste, and many processors are now actively engaged in sustainability reporting. In this context, water and energy consumption, wastewater and solid waste generation and carbon footprints are important measures – for both sustainability, and efficiency. This is reviewing paper include visual inspection of operation line of French fries. This paper covers environmental aspect and impact of each stage in French fries processing industry in production line with check points of resource efficient operations and suggested control measures. The resource efficient operations include reduction water uses, energy uses (electricity and PNG), waste minimization and CO2 emission reduction in French fries processing line.
