Variability studies in chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum)

The present investigation was conducted to access the variability studies in chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora). The field experiment was carried out at Herbal Garden, College of Agriculture, Raichur during 2021-2022. It was laid out in Randomized block design (RBD) with twenty-eight genotypes with three replications. The parameters data were recorded and evaluated. High GCV and PCV values were recorded in the traits like flower diameter, number of flowers per plant, average weight of flower and flower yield per plant. High heritability accompanied with high genetic advance as percent mean was observed in the traits such asplant height, plant spread (N-S), plant spread (E-W), number of branches per plant, number of leaves per plant, days for first flower initiation, days for 50% flowering, flower diameter, number of flowers per plant, average weight of flowers and flower yield per plant indicates involvement of additive gene effect and selection would be more effective.
