Exploring ChatGPT Integration in ELT Pre Service Teacher Education Curriculum Perception and Pedagogical Implications

This qualitative study analyzed the ChatGPT integration into the curriculum of English Language Teaching (ELT) pre-service teacher education at a private university in Uzbekistan. It investigates the main purpose, the perceptions and experiences, pedagogical implications, and experiences of university lecturers of ELT program who teach content and language courses for pre-service teachers. The aim of the research is to provide valuable insights into the current state of the utilization of ChatGPT among university lecturers, identifying its benefits, challenges and its impact on teaching. The study is guided by four research questions. By addressing these research questions, this research aims to contribute to the growing research on AI in education, specifically, within the context of ELT pre-service teacher education.
