Integration of Artificial Intelegence into English for Academic Purposes

This research explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses. This paper aims to investigate the current integration of AI in the EAP context for feedback provision, enhancement of oral and written language usage in the academic context, and activation of autonomous learning. The research is oriented on library research which analyzes research articles and AI tools for AI integration in the context of EAP. The study showed that AI tools have strong potential for enhancement of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) by providing personalized and efficient solutions for various challenges that might be encountered in EAP. AI-supported tools facilitate writing, grammar, individual student progress, tailored materials for individual student's progress, and feedback provision. However, it is important to state that it should be a supplementary tool that will support, critical thinking, deeper writing skills, and spontaneous language use. This paper might be used as an instruction and a guideline for AI integration in the EAP context and support EAP instructors with possible strengths and weaknesses of the tools.
