Enchondroma of Fifth Metacarpal of an Adolescent Girl: A Case Report
Abstract Enchondromas are benign tumours of endochondral origin with unknown aetiology. These tumours typically begin and grow in childhood but are most frequently noted in the third and fourth decades of life. These are the most common primary bone tumours of the hand and commonly appear in the proximal phalanges. Middle phalanges, metacarpals and distal phalanges are the other common sites of occurrence. We are presenting an unusual case of enchondroma of the fifth metacarpal of an adolescent girl treated by curettage and autologous bone graft.
