IZAZOVI I OČEKIVANI EFEKTI DIGITALIZACIJE NA REVIZIJU

This paper aims to point out the challenges and expected effects of digitization, understood as the digital transformation of business models in modern conditions based on applying digital technologies, on auditing as theory, practice and profession. Digital transformation through the introduction of new technologies, considerable data analytics, the internet of things, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and the application of robots in process automation, fundamentally changes the way of thinking, work, business and business model, and the traditional company becomes more and more digital. Such a business environment inevitably determines the financial reporting process and internal and external audits. After the introductory considerations and review of relevant literature, the paper overviews the approach and relevant research outcomes that indicate the expected effects of the changes determined by digital transformation on auditing as a theory, practice and profession. The fundamental messages and conclusions are synthesized in the final part of the paper.
