UTICAJ PROMENE PRAVNE FORME NA LIKVIDNOST I ZADUŽENOST PREDUZEĆA U REPUBLICI SRBIJI

The research in this paper aims to examine whether and in what direction and extent the indicators of liquidity and leverage of enterprises changed after the legal form change. The research includes 73 enterprises in the Republic of Serbia that changed their legal form between 2013 and 2022, transforming from a joint-stock company to a limited liability company. In the context of the research, the individual statements of financial position (balance sheets) at the end of the reporting year in which the change of legal form was implemented and two subsequent reporting years were used. The analysis based on liquidity ratios reveals a statistically significant increase in current ratio of medium intensity when observing the entire two-year interval starting from the end of the year in which the legal form was changed, as well as a statistically significant increase in the quick ratio of low intensity in the second year after the change of legal form. The analysis based on debt ratio reveals a statistically significant decrease in leverage in the two-year interval starting from the end of the year in which the legal form was changed, wherein the decrease is of medium intensity. Changes in the longterm debt ratio are not statistically significant.
