MOTIVES FOR CHOOSING A FIELD OF STUDIES AND STUDENTS’ SATISFACTION FROM STUDYING
<ns3:p>This article presents the results of an empirical study that examined the relationship between the motives for choosing a major and students’ satisfaction with their studies. The research, using the method of diagnostic survey carried out with the survey technique, was conducted at the Faculty of Management and Command (WZiD) of the War Studies University in Warsaw. The research was conducted in January 2023 among 336 students. As a result of the analysis, the motives for choosing a major emerged. Students, when deciding on a field of study, are primarily guided by the possibility of finding a good (interesting) job, the elitism of the field of study or the social prestige of working in a particular profession or industry. The study also showed that students consciously choose a particular field of study, which contributes to experiencing a high level of satisfaction with their studies.</ns3:p>
