THE IMPORTANCE OF OLYMPIC EDUCATION IN „EDUCATION OF TOMORROW”

<ns3:p>The article attempts to present sport and Olympism as an educational potential, focused not only on achieving intended sporting goals but primarily on addressing contemporary educational needs - „education of tomorrow,” as a support for educational efforts undertaken by parents, teachers, and sports coaches. By demonstrating the strength of this relationship, and often its ambiguity, the discussion is based on three keywords: perspective, criterion, and context. In education through sport, particular value is attributed to Pierre de Coubertin’s five principles of Olympism and the fundamental values: fair play and the motto citius-altius-fortius. The article attempts to answer the question: Can sport and Olympism support educational activities undertaken by parents, teachers and sports coaches in the „education of tomorrow” and why?</ns3:p>
