Peasant (farm) households of modern Russian: development and prospects

The relevance of the topic of this study is determined by the need for further reform of the agricultural sector of the Russian economy with a more complete use of the advantages of small business forms, including peasant (farm) households (PFH). The article examines the historical aspects of the development of farming abroad and in Russia, substantiates the advantages of PFH among other organizational and legal forms of farming in rural areas. It is shown that the formation of domestic farming with the beginning of agrarian reforms in the late 20th - early 21st centuries faced a number of legal, economic, technical and social problems. Conclusions are made about the prospects for the development of PFH and the need to adapt them to the modern economy of the agro-industrial complex. The most important condition for their positive dynamics is an increase in investment state and public-private support, which today lags many times behind countries with developed farming and its provision in a differentiated manner, taking into account the zonal features of farming.
