Extraventricular Giant Cell Astrocytoma in a Young Adult
Abstract Subependymal giant cell astrocytoma (SEGA) is a benign intraventricular lesion mostly associated with tuberous sclerosis presenting within the first two decades of life. We present a case of 26 years old with extraventricular SEGA with no syndromic association. Magnetic resonance imaging may be nonconvincing, but histopathology is the key to the diagnosis of these slow-growing benign lesions wherein the surgical excision can lead to a potential cure.
