A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF BULGARIAN AND CHINESE KINSHIP TERMS
Kinship address forms as an indispensable part of language and culture not only reflect the grammatical structure and vocabulary system of a language, but also people’s understanding and emphasis on family and family relationships under different social and cultural backgrounds. Bulgarian and Chinese, as two languages with profound historical backgrounds, although both belong to the Sudanese type of address system, have significant differences in form, usage, cultural connotations, and other aspects. By systematically analyzing the similarities and differences between Bulgarian and Chinese kinship terms, this study further explores the cultural and social contexts behind them, as well as their importance to family relationships. The aim is to provide new perspectives for linguistics, cultural research, and cross-cultural communication.
