THE CONCEPT OF HARMONY AND PEACE

“Harmony” is a comprehensive concept that is deeply rooted in the consciousness of society as well as in all fields of life, such as politics, economics, ecology, education, etc. It is at the core of traditional Chinese culture and can be described as a mixture of ideas that unite opposites. Nowadays, the idea of harmony as peace is generally accepted in international and diplomatic discourse. However, peacebuilding is a multifaceted process involving a complex set of political, interpersonal, structural, short-term, and long-term tasks. It requires the participation of a wide range of actors, including community members, peacekeepers, religious leaders, aid workers, government officials, state leaders, and mediators. Positive peace has strong cross-cultural significance – every culture around the world has its own concept of peace, which goes far beyond the mere absence of war.
