New Circumstances for Artificial Intelligence Art in Southwest China

<p xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" class="first" dir="auto" id="d4045000e68">After several years of development, new media, digital, and technological art have achieved initial success in China during the period since 2017, like a tornado rapidly emerging in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and other important cities. Despite the three-year pandemic, people are now accepting such art through immersive and Virtual Reality (VR) exhibition experiences. This article focuses on a new development direction emerging in these technological arts: that is, the combination of artificial intelligence and art, especially after 2022. This article intends to outline new circumstances in artificial intelligence art from the perspective of the symbiotic relationship between academia, society, and culture and discuss the developments in five sections, which include the publication of academic papers, exhibitions, and forums at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, and AI art in the Guanghui Museum, cultural relic restoration and VR exhibition halls at the Sanxingdui Museum, together with audience acceptance research and official support from the China Artists Association.
