Building Attitude, Trust, and Social Influence in Increasing Behavioral Intention to Use Neobank

The rise of innovation in financial technology has given rise to projections for the future of the banking industry. There has been rapid development, moving from conventional to digital banking services. In alignment with it, demographic factors such as gender and generation continuously encourage people to adopt bank service changes readily. The focus of this research is on the neobank. The study model developed from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), and the Trust Theory. The research objective is to examine the factors influencing consumer intentions in using neobank. This quantitative research used a paperbased questionnaire to collect data from 273 respondents, and data analysis used SEM-PLS.The findings of this study show that, firstly, the higher the perception of ease of use and usefulness, the more favorable the attitude toward neobank.Secondly, the greater the perceived security, the greater the trust in neobank.Thirdly, a favorable attitude toward neobank, higher trust in neobank, and social influence are all positive predictors of neobank use intention.Fourthly, gender moderates the relationship between trust and intention to use neobank, with females benefiting more from the trust. The novelty of research in neobank is building trust with perceived security, not perceived risk. These findings contribute to consumer behavior toward digital banking adaptation.
