Ethiek en de inclusie van kwetsbare groepen in victimologisch onderzoek
Ethics and the inclusion of vulnerable groups in victimological research Victims are increasingly participating in scientific research. Ethics committees require researchers to reflect on the potential vulnerabilities of research participants. In this article, the authors review the function, benefits and risks of victim participation. They argue that the explanation given to vulnerability is limited. Vulnerability is often automatically assumed in victims. Moreover, vulnerability is considered a static concept. The authors discuss literature, their own experiences and the analysis of data and show that neither assumption is justified. They make recommendations for research design and review.
