Copyright: Legal and Technological Challenges
Enforcing copyright laws in the digital age presents significant challenges for India. The ease of copying and distributing copyrighted material online has made it difficult to protect the rights of creators. While the Copyright Act of 1957 provides legal protection, its implementation is hindered by factors such as outdated provisions, difficulties in identifying online pirates, and the global nature of the internet. This research explores the legal and technological challenges of enforcing copyright laws in India's digital landscape. It examines the limitations of existing legal frameworks and the need for updated regulations to address online infringement. Additionally, the study investigates the role of technology in combating piracy, including the use of digital rights management (DRM) and emerging technologies like blockchain. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a comprehensive strategy to address copyright infringement in India. This includes strengthening legal frameworks, leveraging technology solutions, raising public awareness, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. By addressing these challenges, India can create a more robust and effective system for protecting intellectual property rights in the digital age.
