The article examines the problems of food production during the Great Patriotic War on the base of the consolidated annual reports materials of Barnaul Oil Mill No. 3 Rosglavzhirmaslo. The publication evaluates the resource base of the plant during the war years. The data on the technical condition of the plant, the implementation of annual plans, the problems of their implementation, and the dynamics of changes in the plant's personnel are analyzed. It is noted that during the war years, the plant mastered not only new production methods, but also the production of new types of products. In 1942 the plant was the first in the country to master the method of processing sesame seeds by single pressing, which increased the production of sesame oil. A new method of processing sesame seeds into halva was introduced, which was of great importance for the confectionery industry of the country as a whole. It is stated that the plant's management fulfilled its social obligations to the workers, and also paid great attention to the families of military personnel, especially in 1944, the most difficult year for the rear Altai. It is concluded that the plant managed to rebuild production in extreme conditions and ensure the production of products for the population and the front.
