Application and Effect Evaluation of Embedded Systems in English Intelligent Tutoring System
Use of embedded systems in ITS provides a new way of improving the teaching of English language. This paper aims to analyze the design, development, and assessment of an embedded system-based ITS. In terms of its adaptability, feedback, and performance monitoring, system architecture uses low power microcontrollers, high accuracy sensors, optimal software and hardware integration to offer a robust solution that can be used in any learning environment. This system was validated experimentally. It was observed that the learning outcomes improved with the system, especially for novices who gained a 71.49% increase in proficiency. User engagement metrics like longer session time and higher completion rates of the modules indicate the system’s capacity to maintain the learner’s interest. Performance assessment shows latency of less than 120[Formula: see text]ms, response time of 978[Formula: see text]ms, and power consumption of 3.5 W, thus making it suitable for use in environments with limited resources. Also, the system logs and the user interaction analysis presented the opportunity to understand the students’ learning patterns, facilitating proper intervention. Despite the positive outcomes of this study, the system has been depicted as having areas of improvement such as the natural language processing and data privacy measures.
